Facade of historic Sher-Dor Madrasah in Samarkand to be restored with US support

Uzbekistan’s Cultural Heritage Agency’s proposal to conserve Sher-Dor Madrasah on Samarkand’s historic Registan Square has won a $500,000 US Ambassador’s Fund grant. The funding will enable facade restoration, with international experts brought in to lead the project.
